A Brand New Narrative
When Vellum approached us for a brand refresh, they wanted a visual identity that reflected their belief that AI doesn’t have to be intimidating but rather approachable and accessible. We started crafting the identity with a vibrant color palette of blues and purples, designed to evoke a sense of calm and energy. Dynamic gradients were added to symbolize the seamless flow within Vellum’s systems.
A wave-and-line pattern system was created to highlight the precision and collaboration Vellum brings to teams, enhanced by subtle animations that bring the visuals to life. For typography, we paired a serif, Tiempos Headline, and sans serif, Neue Montreal, emphasizing trust and forward-thinking innovation. Pulled together, Vellum's refresh perfectly captures its essence: innovative, approachable, and built for the future.

As part of Vellum’s brand refresh, we designed a series of illustrations that strike a balance between abstract and approachable. These visuals break down complex AI concepts like experimentation and iteration, making them simple and engaging. To bring in a modern, playful touch, we incorporated the extended color palette, making the elements stand out and adding a sense of intrigue and energy.. These illustrations help make AI feel more accessible while reinforcing Vellum’s mission to demystify the technology.
